2023 Head Wines Rose Grenache Barossa Valley – Alex Head’s wines are powerfully individual, intriguing, hard to categorise, these are drawn from signature vineyards and show Alex Head at his most uncompromising; hands-on, bold and risk-taking. Most of all though, they are pure expressions of their Barossa and Eden Valley home.From a Grenache vineyard grown bio-dynamically & picked specifically for Rosé production. They press immediately and use white wine-making techniques (Vin-Gris style). There is no Saignee or bleed-off used at all as then there is need for adjustment in the wine. Approximately 10% barrel fermented Viognier from Eden Valley is always added for a creamy texture, apricot aroma and perceived sweetness.Pale salmon with a touch of copper. The nose shows pink grapefruit, apricot, stonefruit & raspberries. The palate shows a rich texture with delicate citrus, strawberry and a dry, persistent mineral finish.This is a delicate looking Rosé with real power and presence.
