Argyrou Estate Vinsanto Aged 4 Years 2016 0.5L In the Cycladic region, the production of sweet wines from sun-dried grapes was the main traditional winemaking technique. Particularly in Santorini, due to the varietal wealth of the vine and the high quality of the raw material, this technique reached its peak with the exceptional sun-dried sweet wines Vinsanto. Since the 16th century, we find written texts describing the profitable trade of Santorini to Russia, based on the quality and reputation of Vinsanto, as well as their rare ability to withstand time. The production process is painful, long, and costly. However, when the barrels are opened after many years, the sweet, complex, unique, generous, exquisite Vinsanto appears. A rare wine. Vinsanto is produced from 80% Assyrtiko, 10% Aidani, 10% Athiri. Characteristics: Amber color. Intense, noble, refined, and complex aromas of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, honey, nuts, and dried fruits. The palate is oily, full, perfectly balanced, with sweetness and acidity in complete harmony and an elegant, long, almost indelible aftertaste. Winemaking: It is sun-dried for 12-14 days. It ages for 17 years in barrel and 3 years in bottle. Aging potential: deep aging. Pairing: Can be consumed alone as an aperitif. Pairs very well with cigars and desserts based on cocoa and chocolate. Serving: at 6-8 °C
